wise cicada plant-based cafe

This little hidden gem is right smack in the middle of Newmarket. I'm in love. Their grocery section is like an iHerb.com, only in physical store-form. First time customers fell free to use my coupon code: QKZ255 for 10 dollars off orders of $40s or more, & 5 dollars off smaller orders. We all know how much I love importing my special food from America, so it's basically cloud nine on earth for me.

They also have a cafe portion which I recently ate at which has a variety of things:
  • organic salad bar - both hot & cold kinds, changing from day to day
  • an array of raw foods - granola bars, seed cookies, even 'power-balls' who's gonna turn down a power ball?
  • gluten-free, sugar-free, dairy-free, egg-free cakes, and loafs
  • 100% 'living' juice bar
  • coffee
  • tea
  • & a wide range of food on their menu you can cook to order
It's a beautiful little cafe and I love stopping in for a snack whenever I'm around there. I even stopped in today and found gold.
from the juice bar - 'detox' - beetroot, carrot, celery, apple, & ginger
2 pieces of vegan sushi - there was ginger in them, so good
1 seed cookie, usually I don't like any of my natural stuff with...seeds, but this time it was okay.

gold people....gold.

I've been trying to find kombucha here in NZ, even emailed the company Kombucha to ask if they ship internationally. I'm really turning into a foodie freak. Call it that or maybe feeling a bit of FOMO from all the things available in America.

ho humm....
slowly but surely though this scavenger hunt is leading me to treasure!

Do you have any hidden gems in your neighborhood I should know about?
Fess up.

  1. Interesting that I should run across this at the moment. I just finished drinking a bottled smoothie type drink not dissimilar to what you've described. Not something I usually drink. It's so hot today and I felt so thirsty that I stopped by the store and bought it. Very good drink. I need to consume more healthy things.

    1. Drinking your fruits & veggies is one of the easiest ways to consume them I think! Plus there are so many different combinations - keeps it interesting! Thanks for stopping by Arlee, super cool blog you have there!
