Clean Vacay Eats: WIAW

As you know I went away for vacation recently. My boyfriend and I brought a lot of our own food which was great, saved some $green and it gave us a chance to make was we wanted. I turn into a scary monster when I'm hungry, annd maybe that's putting it lightly. But let's just say most people who know me know this fact. Being stranded without any food around would not be a situation I'd want to be in with someone I just met. First impressions, me barking, snappy, and 150% sarcasm. Speaking of knowing me, I'm currently listening to n array of jazz music (it's literally on in my itunes...?) I also went for a nice walk tonight outside after dinner...all I can think is, "Is this what growing up is like?" My birthday is next Tuesday....its happening, that...getting older thing. I'm embracing it though dang it!! Mayyybe on the sole fact my coworker took my cake order for next week, but that''s still embracing it. **smirk smile**

After all food is the theme to this post!

These eats were throughout my whole vacation from both the beach house and camping adventure,
let's dig in::

Salad:: tomato, lemon/pepper tuna 'lite', red onion, mushrooms,
& left-over roasted carrots from din the night before- delish!

Baked dory with basil, oregano, & mainly pepper
Spinach leaf salad:: red onion, mushrooms, tomato.

You're probably starting to see what kinds of food were in our packed car now....

Sauteed chicken on top of a salad
Can you tell this was one of the camping meals? Ya?
2 pts!

Salad: Mushrooms, red onion, tuna w/seaweed crackers on the side,
& 2 slivers of avocado

You're also probably starting to believe me when I said I kind of have a mushroom obsession...

Had to share this gem, cloud 9 experience (from one of this week's dinners)::
Smoked natural wood roasted salmon
w/a spinach salad:: tomato, mushrooms, red onion, & cow's milk feta.

Cow's milk feta is much healthier than regular goat's feta, lower in fat and much less potent. I highly suggest trying it. As you can see I do eat a lot of salad, but it's the meat that I switch up a lot which keeps it interesting. I sometimes put a bit of extra virgin olive oil on them, or plain balsamic vinegar (not a pre-made store bought dressing). Other time's I just eat it without dressing, I think it tastes just fine, as long as you have a couple things in the salad to make it tasty!

I'm going to be looking more in incorporating some carbs. Because I work out early in the morning it's important for me to tapper off the carbs earlier in the day so maybe incorporating them in my in between meals (m2/m4) or perhaps at lunch.

Now that I restocked my whey protein, I'm going to make some protein bars to start eating a little before working out. It's important to have something before working out to avoid your body using muscle as fuel instead of fat. It stores the fat as a survival mode because it's hasn't been feed. I'm currently researching more about this, I'll keep you posted most def.

I wanted to create a photo image of the grocery list I made yesterday. This is easier for you to save it to your computer or phone if you want to have it "on-the-go." Find the original grocery list post here

I will be adding to it over time::

I will leave you with a photo from my after-dinner walk tonight because the jazz would be kind of hard to share via my speakers to yours....lame joke. It's late..I hope you had a fabulous day and were

good to yourself!
